The winter playlist is where I compile the mellower sounds of the year, with an ear for lush orchestration. I also try to focus on unknown bands, but occasionally you'll recognize a superstar or two. I've been making this playlist on CD since 1999, and it's amazing how little the songs age over the years. Last winter marked the first time I posted a YouTube stream of the mix, and it was precipitated by a pretty serious romantic heartbreak. This year there's more hope and love.
